Resolve to Self-Care

Happy First Funday of 2020! It’s a new year and a new decade. Did you make the traditional resolutions? You know, the ones that last maybe a week, or two, but usually not the whole year. I’d like to propose a resolution you may or may not have considered. Make 2020 the year of self-care. Too often we set lofty goals that push us beyond our limits, which makes us better people. But, we forget to balance that with self-care. Self-care is making time for yourself to breathe away some of life’s stress, to build immune systems and enjoy life. After all, what good is reaching that goal if you’re too stressed out to enjoy it? I encourage you to resolve to find balance in your life and make 2020 a year to remember.

  1. Long time reader, first time commenter — so, thought I’d drop a comment..
    — and at the same time ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t
mind me asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
    :P)

I just launched my small businesses site
–also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!)
the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for
“royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!

First, thank you for the compliment! There’s a lot of website builders out there, but I like WordPress’s simplicity and ease of use. Second, I created it with a WordPress template for Consulting. The rest I just added through trial and error.

Thanks for reading my blog, my feeble attempt to encourage, well anyone. Take care of yourself as well.

      Sincerely,
      Pam Anderson

  2. First off I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to
ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out
how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Kudos!

Thank you, I’m glad you are enjoying it. As to writing, it’s that first 10-15 mins that is the most important. I generally don’t write until Friday or the weekend and schedule the posts for Monday morning. Mon-Thurs is usually pretty busy for me, so waiting until I can be more relaxed is helpful. I watch for inspiration online, mostly Facebook. That’s where most of the pics come from. Then I just kind of write about how that pic made me feel or how I can relate it to nonprofits or self-care. Use that 10-15 mins to perhaps meditate – whether that is just sitting comfortably and focusing on your breathing, listening to calming music (youtube has channels for this), or some spiritual form of meditation. Then just let the words flow. Maybe set a timer to write for no more than 10-15 mins. Take a break, then come back and look at what you wrote, and edit into a blog. If it’s not much content, then give yourself a few hours or a day, and try again. The main thing is to be relaxed and to write what you know, touches you, etc. Good luck!

few interesting things or advice. Maybe you could write next articles referring to this
article. I wish to read even more things about it!

More self-care tips coming in the future. Have some changes coming up that I want to put out there first, but I’ll swing back around to self care soon.

What web host are you using? Can I get your affiliate hyperlink for
your host? I want my site loaded up as fast as yours lol

    • Pam@compacity.pro

It’s just WordPress run through a private server. I think the trick is to not make the site too overloaded with content. That seems to help it load faster, although I’m no expert on that. LOL!

  9. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the
video to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence
on just posting videos to your site when you could be giving us something
    informative to read?

    • Pam@compacity.pro

Thanks for the feedback. I will get back to writing, but for now I am expanding services and need to focus on pushing those out. But please keep reading and I will blog in the near future.

  10. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I
guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any points for beginner blog writers?
    I’d genuinely appreciate it.

    • Pam@compacity.pro

Sorry about that. Technology is great, when it works. LOL! As for blog writing, I watch for inspiration and write what I know. IE. Self-care: I studied psychology in college, have lived through anxiety, depression and severe stress and had to learn to use some of that psychology on myself. The pics are usually on my facebook feed, and they often inspire me to some thought I want to share. Be true to you, yes it may be contrite, but it is the best way to write. Good luck!
