Controlling Stress

Good Funday Morning! Are you starting your day stressed? Is your To Do list too long? Is your mind racing at all the tasks that need completing? First, breathe. Try my 5 to the third power rule: Breathe in through your nose slowly for 5 seconds, hold it for 5 seconds, then let it out slowly through your mouth for 5 seconds. Repeat a few times. This calms the body and the mind. Now, prioritize. Not necessarily what comes first, but what you can do, what you have control of. For instance, the bank account needs balancing. But you haven’t received the bank statement yet. You can’t control when it arrives, but you can control taking time to do it when it comes. We sometimes create more stress than necessary and our mind and body pays the price. Do your best on what you can, allowing for on the fly adjustments for those things we can’t control. You got this.
